Osimhen had not scored in the last four games, but was back on the scoresheet when Napoli beat Braga
Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo praised Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen after his goal in Tuesday’s 2-0 UEFA Champions League win over BragaSoccernet .ngreported.
Osimhen, who won CAF’s Player of the Year award on Monday, rejoined Napoli’s squad for the Champions League match against Portuguese club Braga.
The Partenopeans took the lead in the 9th minute with a goal from Serdar Saçi. Osimene then scored his second goal for Partenopea in the 33rd minute, sealing the victory for the Italian champions.
After the victory, Napoli captain Di Lorenzo reiterated his satisfaction with the result. He also defended Osimhen, who traveled to Morocco to receive the CAF POTY award on Monday, despite having an important match on Tuesday.
According to Napoli Magazine, Di Lorenzo said: “Travel is tireless. It was an important award and he was right to take it.”
