Nigerian businessman Dozie Mmobuosi has said that he does not consider the collapse of the Sheffield United takeover bid to be a failure, reports Soccernet.ng.

The technology entrepreneur tried to take over an English Football League team that was on the verge of promotion to the top flight. However, the deal fell through as no agreement could be reached.

The African business tycoon expressed on Arise TV that he would not comment on the failed attempt, but clarified that the bid was not a failure.

“I would have liked to have avoided something like this, but I want to make this clear to Nigerians and the rest of the world: I believe it is a failed offer. “I don’t think so. I haven’t responded in months, as that’s the way it should be at this point,” he said.

When asked if he would return to make a new offer to another club on his list, he did not rule out the possibility of reapplying.

Mmobuosi added: “I’ve given it some thought. Let’s see what happens.” I don’t want to say anything more about this. There are about 1472 FCs at the moment and whenever there is an opportunity to do something somewhere in the world, I will be there. ”

Mr Mmobuosi aims to improve the Nigeria Football League and has therefore encouraged other prominent businessmen in Nigeria to consider investing in the league.
