Super Eagles striker Godwin Saber expressed his joy after playing against Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League match between Al Nasr and Al AhdoudSoccernet.ng reported.
Savior left Portuguese league club Casapia in the summer and moved to Saudi Arabian club Al Ahdood, where he became an integral part of the team. The 27-year-old has made nine appearances for the club since joining, scoring two goals.
He was in the starting eleven when Al Akhdoud played against Al Nasr at Al Awal Park. Saber played the full 90 minutes for the team, recording 24 touches on the ball and 2 shots on goal.
However, the Messiah failed to make much of an impact as they lost 3-0 against Al Nasr thanks to goals from Sami Al Naji and former Manchester United star Ronaldo.
Despite the loss, Saber was full of energy after the match. He expressed his excitement for playing against Ronaldo on his Instagram.
“I’m disappointed that I didn’t go home with a win, but it’s a great feeling to play alongside my role model,” Saber wrote.
Following this result, Al Ahdud are now in 16th place in the Saudi Pro League standings with 10 points.
