Glenn Maxwell Hits 104-metre Monster On Dharamsala Roof, The Biggest Six Of World Cup So Far

Watch: Glenn Maxwell smashed a 104-metre mammoth six on the Dharamshala roof during the Australia-New Zealand World Cup 2023 match on October 28.

Australian openers David Warner and Travis Head got off to a great start after being sent to bat first by New Zealand. The two put together a quick partnership of 175 runs in just 19.1 overs. However, wickets fell at regular intervals as Australia retreated to his 274 for 5. Mitchell Santner stopped Mitchell Marsh from scratching (36 of 51 pitches), then Maxwell came on and made a nice cameo with 41 of 24 pitches. After scoring the fastest goal of the World Cup with only his 40 balls against the Netherlands, Maxwell scored a huge top score and caught everyone’s attention.

After 42 overs, Australia were 306-6. When Santner came to bowl in the next over, he was treated with contempt. He threw the third pitch full just outside the field. Maxwell snaked his way forward, approached the line of the ball and hurled the ball down the ground to score an incredible six and over the roof of Dharamshala. The distance is 104 meters, the longest in this tournament. Next up is Shreyas Iyer with 101m6 against Afghanistan.
