“Fire in his legs” – Former Schalke 04 star hails Nantes’ Moses Simon after stunning Lorient display

The Nigerian winger produced an outstanding performance as the Yellow Canaries won their second league title of the season.

French midfielder Florent Moret has heaped praise on Moses Simon after the Super Eagles star’s impressive performance against FC Lorient, Soccernet.ng reports.

Simon was Lorient’s biggest blow as Nantes beat Louis Fontenot 5-3 at the Stade de la Beaujoire on Saturday afternoon.

The exciting Nigerian winger provided two excellent assists before scoring Nantes’ fifth goal from the penalty spot late in the game.

Simon’s first assist allowed Nantes to equalize through Matisse Abrein. Meanwhile, his second assist freed up space for Moret for his team’s fourth match at home.

This was Moret’s first goal for Nantes this season and his second for the club since joining from FC Schalke 04 last June.

And the former Montpellier midfielder has nothing but praise for Simon, who has been unstoppable in recent weeks.

“Moses (Simon) is a man with fire in his feet. That’s when he’s charming,” Moret said, reported the Tribune Nantais.

Moret also commented on a match that produced eight goals and provided first-class entertainment for Nantes fans and neutrals.

“This is a crazy game,” said the 31-year-old. “It’s good for the viewers, it’s good for the people who watched it on TV. It was scary, it was difficult, but the most important thing was to get this win. We’re moving forward, so it’s good for the whole team. It’s good for you.”

Simon has contributed two goals and three assists in Nantes’ last three games.

Before the match at Lorient, Simon scored an audacious goal against Clermont Foot to give the Yellow Canaries their first league win of the season.
