The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Tuesday announced that entry will be free for all upcoming matches of the Indian women’s cricket team against England and Australia at Wankhede Stadium and DY Patil Stadium.
The cricket festival begins on November 29 with the Indian Women’s A team taking on the England team in a three-match T20 series at the Wankhede Stadium. Matches will be held on November 29th, December 1st and 3rd, with all matches starting at 1:30pm.
Minnu Mani has been appointed as the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, with Uma Chhetri deputized for the England A series. She made her international debut during the India-Bangladesh tour in July this year. Mani also represented Delhi Capitals in the 1st Women’s Premier League.
The spotlight will also be on Shreyanka Patil, the Indian prospect who had an impressive run in the WPL with Royal Challengers Bangalore earlier this year. Patil was the first Indian player to participate in the Women’s Caribbean Premier League.
“MCA President Amol Kale and the Supreme Council have unanimously decided to encourage support for women’s cricket. Not only will it be a platform for women’s T20 cricket, but it will also open the door to a world of empowerment through women’s T20 cricket,” said Ajinkya Naik, Director General.
The Indian women’s senior team will then play a three-match T20I series against England from December 6. The second and third matches will be played at the Wankhede Stadium on December 9 and 10 respectively, with all matches starting at 7pm. After this, India and England will play their one-off Test at the DY Patil Stadium from December 14th to December 17th.
India’s home series against the Australian women’s team will begin with a one-off Test from December 21 to 24 at the Wankhede Stadium, followed by a three-match ODI series . His first ODI will be on December 28, his second on December 30 and his third on January 2, 2024. All these matches will start at 1:30 pm and will be played at the Wankhede Stadium.
