Exploring the other side of Bayer Leverkusen’s gentle hitman

Boniface only joined Bayer Leverkusen this summer and has made a huge impression on the club.

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has been a revelation for Bayer Leverkusen since his €20.5 million move from Royal Union SG, reports Soccernet.

The 22-year-old quickly became a sensation in Germany, scoring eight goals and providing three assists in eight appearances. He has become an important member of Xabi Alonso’s team and has forged a great partnership with his team-mates.

But despite the power play, good dribbling and eyes on goal, Boniface remained calm. The 22-year-old striker maintains a calm demeanor in public and rarely says much in interviews.

However, despite his appearance and what he shows in public, Boniface presents a completely different personality on social media. This innocent-looking archer has recently become very popular for his hilarious posts and captions.

Unlike Napoli star Victor Osimhen, who posted memes from various sources, Boniface uses his own photos, dribbles and other match situations as his own memes.

Apart from evidence of his youthful exuberance, most of his posts show that he is very much in touch with the Nigerian environment, or the “cruise” spirit. They are always in pidgin English and he always uses interesting captions. However, some of his contributions may be overstated.

This post may have some meaning after watching the video, but in the Nigerian context, this tweet may have implications.

Obviously his efforts have grown astronomically since moving to Bayer Leverkusen due to positional reasons. However, it can have a negative impact on him. Boniface had to edit some words in the tweet due to the reaction of his followers.

He needs to be careful with the words he uses to avoid serious backlash. Boniface is still trying to make a name for himself, so he needs to be careful about the image he presents to the public.
