Ex-Chelsea boss in contention to be Osimhen’s new coach at Napoli

Napoli have not yet reached the heights of last season and Aurelio De Laurentiis is already looking for a possible replacement for García

Serie A champions Napoli are exploring the possibility of appointing former Chelsea manager Graham Potter as their new manager if they sack Rudi Garcia, Soccer has reported.

Napoli won their first Serie A title in 33 years last season under the guidance of Italian coach Luciano Spalletti. However, he resigned to take up a position with the Italian national team.

Nevertheless, Napoli hired Rudi Garcia in the summer. However, since the French tactician took over the management of the club, the results have not been what the club had hoped for.

Parthenopeans have won 5 of 9 games and are in 3rd place in the standings. Furthermore, this match was not the free and flashy football that Napoli played last season. Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen also had problems.

After the difficulties, there was talk of De Laurentiis buying a new coach. Former Marseille manager Igor Tudor was in the discussion.

But according to a new report from Transfer News Live, Potter is the latest candidate for the job. The English player has not been featured by the club since being released by Chelsea.

Potter is known for his possession-oriented style of soccer. However, at Chelsea he struggled to build a team that created chances and scored goals. If this move were to materialize, Potter would need to position Potter to allow Osimhen, the focal point of Napoli’s attack, to function properly.
