Former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas recently shared his thoughts on the Premier League and named the top three teams to watch, Soccernet.ng reported.
He named Manchester City, Arsenal and Brighton as favorites to win and gave detailed insight into his decision. In an interview with the Mirror quoted by the Daily Mail, Fabregas explained his choice.
The Manchester-based club has won the Premier League title for the 2022-23 season, with Arsenal surprising football fans around the world by emerging as formidable title contenders.
Brighton don’t have the star-studded clubs of Chelsea or Manchester United since their promotion in 2017, but they have proven to be a formidable side in the Premier League.
As for Pep Guardiola’s side, Fabregas praised their understanding of the game and ability to manage efforts effectively.
“That’s how they understand the game. They know when to slow down, when to speed up, when to find the right space. We know the right time to attract and accelerate thehe said.
Fabregas emphasized that Brighton’s playing style matches their football philosophy and explained how they adapt to high and low pressing.
“They understand soccer, which I love, and believe that soccer should be played. In a way, it reminds me of how we played.
“Fast, sharp football, very unpredictable. If you push them up, they will be pushed into the background. If you push them low, they will continue to play short and find space. It’s very interesting and De Zerbi is someone I learn a lot from”he continued.
On the topic of Arsenal, Fabregas described a 3-1-3-3 formation with six players in front of the ball.
