Emma Raducanu backed to be ‘competing for Grand Slams soon’

Jack Draper has been helping fellow Briton Emma Raducanu to fight for another Grand Slam title in the coming years.

Raducanu rose to fame by winning the 2021 US Open at just 18 years old, becoming the only player to win a major after qualifying.

She has had major problems since then and is currently undergoing surgery on both wrists and one ankle.

However, Draper expects her to return stronger than ever and more motivated to succeed, and believes it is only a matter of time before her talent resurfaces. .

“I think once she reaches a good level of fitness, she can compete with the best players in the world and be in the Grand Slams again,” Draper told the Express.

“It’s not a quick fix. It’s going to take a lot of time.” She is eager to return.

“I think because of your shoulder injury, you might feel like you’re not being productive, off the field, watching people win on the big stage all the time. Get your love back for yourself.” Get the motivation to get back to where you were.

“I know that at some point next year and the year after, she will be back in the finals and in key positions, because she has everything she needs. It’s a problem.

“When she’s in good shape, she’s a great player. I think she’s been battling injuries for a long time. I think people forget she was in school before the U.S. Open. < /p>

“She didn’t have much training. Obviously, she did great and achieved what people dream of in their entire careers.

“And of course, I think it’s a little bit wrong to expect much from her after that, because she probably didn’t have a lot of physical grounding and experience playing on tour and all that kind of stuff.” Another player did it.”

How long has Emma Raducanu been injured?

Raducanu has been sidelined by a recent injury since losing to Jelena Ostapenko 2-6, 1-6 at the WTA500 in Stuttgart in April.

In 2021, she became the first tennis qualifier in the Open era to win a Grand Slam title, winning without losing a single set.

Since then, however, Raducanu has struggled with the pressures and expectations that naturally arise.

Her meteoric rise to fame didn’t mean she took touring seriously. And despite the importance of her success, unnecessary pressure quickly spiraled out of control.

After losing in the second round at Wimbledon in 2022, Raducanu responded to the attention he received by saying: just kidding. I was only 19 years old and literally won a slam.

“The pressure is more on those who don’t do it.”

However, she confirmed that she will return to next month’s Australian Open unless her recovery is affected.
