Taiwo Awoni suffered an injury before the international break and it looks like it won’t be long before he returns to Forest’s line-up.

Awoniyi was injured just before Forest’s Premier League game against Crystal Palace two weeks ago. After the injury, he was out of action for four weeks.

As a result, he missed the Super Eagles’ two friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique during the international break.

Nottingham Forest will return to Premier League action this weekend, but in his pre-match press conference Cooper explained that Awonih is not yet fully fit.

“He’s making good progress. To be honest, he’s a long way from being educated. Let’s see what happens next week,” The Nottingham Post According to

, Mr. Cooper said.

Awoniyi is Nottingham Forest’s top scorer in the Premier League this season with three goals. He also led Tricky His Trees to his 13th place with two assists.

Chris Wood has to start in place of the Nigerian, with Cooper hoping the 31-year-old performed well against a Luton side who have conceded 15 goals in eight top-flight games. I’m sure you’re hoping for it.
