AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli has revealed that Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze is improving despite increasing competition from Christian Pulisic in the starting line-upSoccernet .ngreports.
The Super Eagles striker attracted significant interest from multiple clubs in last summer’s transfer window, ultimately signing with AC Milan to join compatriots Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen in Italy’s Serie A.
However, Chukwueze faced a challenge as American striker Christian Pulisic was named in Pioli’s starting XI.
In a quote published in the Milan Post, Pioli said Chukwueze has met the team’s expectations and is showing improvement.
“He knows exactly what to do and he did it at #Cagliari. We expect goals from players like him, but he continues to develop. “
Unlike Pulisic, who has scored two goals and provided one assist in six games, Chukwueze is yet to score for the San Siro team.
He only had two opportunities to start in the five games, against Newcastle and Inter Milan, so his chances of living up to expectations were limited.
