Bundesliga: Super Eagles star Victor Boniface names three factors that make Bayer Leverkusen outstanding

The Nigerian striker played in the doubles on Sunday afternoon and helped Xabi Alonso’s side maintain their unbeaten record.

Victor Boniface has revealed the secret behind Bayer Leverkusen’s impressive start to the Bundesliga season, Soccernet.ng reports.

Bayer Leverkusen celebrated their fourth league win of the season after suffering a 4-1 defeat against Heidenheim at the Bayer Arena on Sunday.

Xabi Alonso’s side remain unbeaten after five games, with only a draw with champions Bayern Munich reducing their record.

Besides the wins, Bayer Leverkusen also play some of the most exciting attacking football in the country, with only Bayern’s 17 goals scored higher than their 18.

Boniface was responsible for more than a quarter of that performance, with the 22-year-old contributing an impressive brace against Heidenheim.

The Nigeria national team admits that Xabi Alonso’s side are a decent team, highlighting three things that define them.

“We have a very good team,” Boniface said at the end of Sunday’s game.

“I think the key is a combination of a hunger for success, a joy of playing, and above all a willingness to work hard. That’s what sets us apart!”

Boniface had a great start to his time in Germany, scoring eight goals and three assists in his first seven games.

The former Union Saint Giroise was named Bundesliga Player of the Month and Newcomer of the Month in August and shows no signs of slowing down.

Thanks to the performance of the Super Eagles striker, many observers of Germany’s elite league already believe that Leverkusen are the biggest challenger to FC Bayern Munich’s title.
