Boniface beat out RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons and Mainz 05’s Brajan Gruda to win the award. PSG loanee Xavi was in great form for the Red Bulls. The20-year-old started 10 games for Marco Rose and contributed to nine goals for the club.
Meanwhile, Germany Under-21 international Gruda helped Mainz revive after a very poor start to the season, but the young talent’s performance could stop Boniface from winning the award for the third time in a row. I could not do it.
