The Super Eagles have an important match against Lesotho on Thursday and Boniface is mentally ready for the duel
Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has said his team will aim for a win when they face Lesotho in their first match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, reported Soccer.
Nigeria will play Lesotho in their first match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Wednesday.
Nigeria lost to Ghana in terms of total goals and missed out on qualifying for the Mundial last time out. Jose Peceiro’s players will therefore have to give their all to this qualification to avoid a repeat of what happened last time.
Despite Victor Osimhen being absent due to injury, Jose Peceiro fielded a strong team for the match.
Still, Bayer Leverkusen star Boniface will be looking to end the three-time African champions’ reign.
Ahead of the match against Lesotho, the 22-year-old hitman declared he was ready to help Nigeria win.
“We are ready, we are focused, and we are determined. We are going to do our best and give 100 percent. And we are definitely aiming to win the game. Please. That’s the most important thing,” Boniface told NFF TV.
The last time Nigeria played against Lesotho, they won 3-0. They will try to repeat a similar result in Uyo on Thursday.
