Lewandowski’s time at Barcelona is gradually coming to an end and Barcelona are looking for a capable replacement
Super Eagles strikers Victor Osimhen and Victor Bonifatius are two players Barcelona are eyeing as potential replacements for Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, Soccer reports. Masu.
Lewandowski moved from Bayern Munich to Barcelona last year in a deal worth 50 million euros. Since joining the Blaugrana, he has made an impressive showing, scoring 33 goals in 46 appearances. He scored his 23 goals and was the key to Barcelona’s success in La Liga.
He got off to a strong start this season, scoring six goals in 11 games. However, he was not the elegant and deadly goalscorer he was during his time at Bayern Munich.
Lewandowski’s time at Barcelona appears to have stalled and the club will likely consider a new contract as Ferran Torres has not proven reliable in front of goal.
According to Barca Insider, the two options the Blaugrana are considering are Osimhen and Boniface.
Osimhen has performed brilliantly for Napoli over the past two years, helping the team win their first Scudetto in 33 years.
Meanwhile, Boniface has been in great form for Bayer Leverkusen since joining the club in the summer transfer window.
Osimhen would be the more expensive option as Napoli value him at over 120 million euros. However, Boniface’s demands could be significantly lower as Bayer Leverkusen paid him 20.5 million euros for his services just three months ago.
