Bangladesh Appoint Sridharan Sriram As Technical Consultant For ICC World Cup 2023

The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Thursday, September 21, 2023, has appointed former T20 head coach Sridharan Sriram as technical advisor to the national cricket team for the ICC World Cup to be held on October 5 in India. Announced.

Sriram has previously served as the technical advisor for the Bangladesh team in the T20 Tri-Nation Series in New Zealand, the Asia Cup Twenty20 in the United Arab Emirates and the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia .

From 2018 to 2022, he was an assistant coach for the Australian team. Sriram played cricket from 2015 until 2018 where he served as a consultant coach for Australia.

He represented India in eight One-Day Internationals between 2000 and 2004 during an illustrious first-class career spanning almost 18 years.

“Yes, we have appointed him (Sriram) as the technical advisor for the next World Cup,” Khalid Mahmud, team director of the Bangladesh team for the next World Cup, said on Thursday confirmed to Cricbuzz.

Bangladesh all-format captain Shakib Al Hasan is a big fan of Sriram and always supported him during the T20 World Cup. When Chandika Hathursinghe was selected as Bangladesh’s head coach, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) decided not to renew Sriram’s contract.

Sriram joined Lucknow Super Giants as an assistant coach for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 earlier this month.
