Babar Azam Gifts Jersey To Hyderabad Ground Staff After Two-Week Campaign At Venue Ends

Watch: Babar Azam gifted a Pakistan jersey to the ground staff at the Rajiv Gandhi stadium in Hyderabad after their win against Sri Lanka in the 2023 World Cup on October 10 (Tuesday).

Pakistan played four matches including two warm-up matches at the stadium and ended the season with a stunning record win against Sri Lanka in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Before flying to Ahmedabad for the important match against India, captain Babar Azam presented the team’s jersey to the local ground staff and posed for a photo with them.

Pakistan landed in Hyderabad on September 27 and played warm-up matches against New Zealand and Australia. Their first game of the World Cup was against the Netherlands, which they won. Pakistan also scored 345 runs against Sri Lanka, making it the most successful chase in World Cup history. Babar’s gesture of meeting the ground staff after the match was an acknowledgment of their efforts over the past two weeks.
