“Anthony Martial does absolutely nothing”- Chelsea legend Mikel Obi rips into Manchester United striker

Martial arrived at Manchester United with high hopes but simply failed

Former Super Eagles midfielder Mikel Obi has criticized Anthony Martial for his consistently poor performances at Manchester United, reports Soccernet.ng.

Martial moved from Monaco to Manchester United in 2015 for 60 million euros. At the time, the Frenchman was one of the most promising young players in the world after a fantastic season with Monaco. He also won the Golden Boy Award at the time.

However, since arriving at the club, he has not reached the expected heights. The 28-year-old striker spent eight years at Old Trafford, but he failed to make much of an impression. He played in his 317 games for the Red Devils and holds the record for 90 goals and 55 assists.

Manchester United have been poor this season and Martial couldn’t help them.

Former Chelsea star Mikel was disappointed with Martial’s performance, believing he did not try hard enough.

“Martial is a player who has no idea what he’s doing at a football club,” Mikel said on the Obi-Wan Podcast.

“When he comes in, he just walks across the field, groans, shakes his head, and you look at him and say, ‘Do something.'”

“If you’re not playing well, at least kick someone or get into a fight (lol). Do something and show that you care. Anthony Martial isn’t doing anything on the field. And every time I see him, I think: F@@k me!

Manchester United lost to Bayern Munich on Tuesday and was eliminated from the UEFA Champions League. Martial was not there.
