Andy Murray quashes retirement talk: ‘I still love tennis’
Andy Murray has vowed to continue playing tennis until he feels he can no longer do it, and says the sport and lifestyle is still close to his heart. p>
Since returning to tennis in 2019 after sustaining a serious thigh injury, Murray has had a hard time finding wins, but given that he almost lost his career completely, Just being able to do it is a victory.
Although he is now 36 years old and his days of winning a Grand Slam seem a long time ago, he heads to Australia ahead of the 2024 season with a positive outlook.
Tim Henman has hinted that this season could be his last, which is a possibility, but Murray dismissed the idea that he was planning to step down.
“Even though my body is getting older, I still love it and I love training and traveling,” Murray said.
“It’s a little hard to leave home now. You have a young family, so it’s hard.
“But I feel good enough to compete with the best players in the world. I’m going to keep playing until I feel like I can’t anymore.”

However, after several months of rest and reflection, he is rather positive that he was able to play the season almost unscathed without any injuries.
“Being able to attend games most weeks is probably the most positive time of the year for me,” he said.
“I had a small injury during the US Open, but other than that I’ve been very good. As long as I’m healthy, it’s much more fun to be on the pitch.
“Rehabilitation is much more difficult now than when I was young when I have many injuries. So I hope to maintain my health.”
