Watch: Playing for the Trinbago Knight Riders, Andre Russell smashed Barbados Royals’ Jason Holder for a huge 108-metre six in the 2023 Caribbean Premier League last week to continue his stellar form in the tournament.
Andre Russell was as active as ever in the CPL, hitting 15 sixes in eight innings, including a 108-yard strike against Jason Holder on September 6 at Queen’s Park Oval.
Russell stepped up to bat at No. 6 and didn’t take long to get going. He hit two consecutive sixes in the 17th over, but they were negated by the holder. He also scored a big hit, beating Holder in his penultimate over to score his 36th, sending a fuller shot arcing into the roof of the stadium.
But Holder had the last laugh when he dismissed Russell on the next delivery and sent him back for 22-ball 39. In his CPL this year he had 8 innings and Russell had a strike rate of 170 and he scored 141 runs.
