AFL: Morocco’s Wydad send Enyimba back to Aba after 3-0 win at home

The defending champions of the Nigeria Professional League lost the first leg of the African Football League semi-final at home to Aba.

Reigning NPFL champions Enyimba have been kicked out of the African Premier Football League by Morocco’s Ouidad Athletic Club, Soccernet.ng reports.

The nine-time NPFL champions had a chance to equalize the match in the first leg but missed the chance and recorded just one shot on target in 20 attempts, so there are only highlights was.

A clumsy mistake by Super Eagles goalkeeper and club captain Olorunleke Ojo earned the visiting team a penalty and a rare away win.

Enyimba coach Finidi George believes his team can turn things around in Casablanca, which motivated Aba Warriors to play the least popular match.

Things got complicated for Finidi’s team four minutes into the match when Wydad’s Amoud El Amroud scored the first goal for the hosts, doubling their total score. A long ball from midfield was met by Atiat Allah and El Amoud headed it in to give the home team the lead.

In the 38th minute, Atiat Allah J scored a free kick, confirming Enyimba’s departure from the African Football League. Inside the box is Amal Harkas. The first attempt was saved by Ojo, but Harcus scored on the follow-up.

Wydad played in the second half of the first half when Yahiya Atiyat Allah hit a low cross into the penalty area. I scored. Unfold it and attach it to the underside of the crossbar.
