Afghanistan will play Ireland for a one-off Test in Abu Dhabi, UAE, beginning on Wednesday, February 28. Here is the AFG vs IRE Test squad for both sides, including injury updates.
The one-off friendly will be held at Abu Dhabi’s Tolerance Oval from February 28th to March 3rd. After becoming full members of the ICC in 2017, the two teams met once in a Test match in Dehradun, India, in 2019. With 2 wins and 20 losses, 5 wins and 82 losses, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan strong> took center stage, helping to defeat Ireland with his seven wickets.
Ireland have undergone significant changes, with only five members of the Test team who took part in Ireland’s defeat in Dehradun remaining. The tourists nominated a group of 15 people led by Andrew Balbirnie. Rookie fast bowler Matthew Foster has won his first Test cap. Foster represents the Northern Division and CSNI in Ireland’s domestic competition and is one of four uncapped players in the newly formed squad. Barrie McCarthy, Theovan Warcombe and Craig Young are also expected to make their Test debuts when the one-off Test begins.
