Novak Djokovic Schedule: Where is the 24-time Grand Slam champion playing next?
Novak Djokovic has openly admitted that Grand Slams are his priority at this stage of his career. So what does the Serb have planned for the rest of 2023 now that major tournaments are gone?
Djokovic won three of the four major singles titles this year, but his only loss came in the Wimbledon final against Carlos Alcaraz.
The 36-year-old’s most recent success came at the US Open, where Djokovic won his first title since 2018 in New York.
This marks Djokovic’s 10th reign as world No. 1, initially helping Serbia reach the Davis Cup finals in Malaga later this year.
However, Djokovic will not participate in the ATP Tour for the first time since 2019 and will return to China.
Djokovic previously participated in the Shanghai Masters, where he was a four-time champion, but announced his withdrawal from the tournament.
Djokovic confirmed his retirement on social media. “Over the years, the best support I have received anywhere in the world is from China. Shanghai has always been one of my favorite tournaments of the season. I will miss the #NoleFam in China. In the future I hope to return to China and play in front of you again.”

Now that it has been confirmed that Djokovic will miss this year’s China Swing, Tennishead believes this is his most likely schedule for the remainder of 2023.
Paris Masters – Starts October 30th
ATP Finals (Turin) – Starts November 12
Davis Cup Final (Málaga) – Starts on 21st November
The battle for world No.1
Djokovic currently trails his nearest rival Carlos Alcaraz by 3,260 points, but the Spaniard has every chance to close the gap with the No. 1, who is expected to miss six weeks .
Alcaraz is currently participating in events in Beijing (ATP 500) and Shanghai (ATP 1000), so he has the potential to earn 1500 points in China.
Additionally, Djokovic loses 750 ranking points, while Alcaraz only loses 320 points.
This means that at the Paris Masters, Alcaraz may have closed the gap on Djokovic to half of what it was initially, but the Serbian still holds the top spot.
