Nigeria continued his excellent start to the weekend in Germany, helping his team to a fantastic home victory
Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has been named in the Bundesliga’s team of the week after his impressive performance against Heidenheim on Sunday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Since arriving at Leverkusen from Union Saint Giroise in the summer, Boniface has consistently been in the best XI in Germany’s top flight.
The 22-year-old produced another impressive performance for Xabi Alonso’s side, who defeated newly promoted Heidenheim at the Bayer Arena.
Boniface scored two goals, one in each half, to give Werkself a 4-1 victory.
The Super Eagles striker opened the scoring for the home side in the 9th minute after receiving a pass on the edge of the box before turning his opponent and expertly slotting it into the net.
The former Bodø/Glimt star then scored a brace from the penalty spot in the middle of the second third.
And for his issue, WhoScored gave Boniface a rating of 9.05. This is his fourth highest rating in the Bundesliga at the weekend. .
In this week’s team, the Nigerian striker leads the attacking line alongside FC Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane and VfB Stuttgart’s Selhou Ghirassy.
