Ish Sodhi Stands His Ground After Edge, Moments After Being Recalled By Bangladesh Captain Following Pre-Delivery Run Out

Ish Sodhi stood his ground following an outside edge a few overs after being recalled by Bangladesh skipper Litton Das following a pre-delivery run out during the second Bangladesh-New Zealand ODI on Saturday (September 23).

The second ODI of the series was full of controversy. New Zealand’s 47th over, seven balls to Hasan Mahmood “Mankading” Sodhi, until Das’ appeal was withdrawn.

Before the fourth ball of the 46th over, Mahmud caught Sodhi who was running backwards and wiped the ball before playing it. The third umpire declared Sodi out. As he walked away, he sarcastically praised Bangladesh, but his reaction changed when the home team withdrew their objections.

Sodhi, the No. 17 batsman, hugged Litton after being recalled due to a gesture from the opposition camp. Even after that, he reached the age of 29, but he was drawn into another topic.

On the penultimate ball of the innings, Sodhi swung at a slow ball from Khalid Ahmed, which appeared to hit the keeper. Khaled believed he heard the noise and appealed, but the on-field referee refused to make the decision.

At Khalid’s urging, Litton chose DRS, saw a significant increase in ratings, and Sodhi was removed. This time, Sodhi had no reprieve and had to leave the country for 35 days.
