Watch: Mohammed Shami Flattens Smith’s Leg Stump With Exemplary Inducker

Watch: Steve Smith saw his leg stump stump uprooted by an inducker from Mohammed Shami during the first Australia-India ODI at Mohali on Friday (September 22).

Shami, who dismissed Mitchell Marsh in the first over, sent Smith back again in the second over, dismissing the batsman with a ball that moved sharply inside.

On the third delivery of the 22nd over, the ball moved towards Smith from the off-stump. His Australian number three attempted a drive but only got an inside edge to his leg stump.

Smith headed for 41 off 60 balls after sharing a 94-run stand with David Warner.

This was Smith’s first international match since the 2023 Ashes, having missed his recent tour to South Africa with a wrist injury. He was expected to lead the Australian team in the ODI series, but was replaced by Mitchell Marsh as Pat Cummins suffered a broken wrist.
