Osayi-Samuel celebrates first Fenerbahce goal with Okocha-like dance

The Super Eagles defender has not scored a goal at Fenerbahçe since last November, but added a goal again on Sunday

Super Eagles defender Osay-Samuel scored his first goal of the season at Fenerbahçe on Saturday and celebrated with an Okocha-like dance, Soccernet reported.

Osay-Samuel was a low profile player for Fenerbahçe last season, but made 23 appearances for Turkey’s Super Lig during Jorge Jesus’ tenure.

However, since Ismail Kartar took charge of the team, his fortunes have turned around this season. He started two of the three games for Turkish top team Fenerbahçe.

The 25-year-old right winger finally scored his first goal of the season in Fenerbahçe’s 1-0 win over Ankaraguq on Saturday. After scoring the goal, he went to the corner flag to celebrate with a dance.

Okocha made his dance moves famous during his time at Fenerbahçe, providing a form of entertainment for his fans.

Fenerbahçe are far ahead of other Super Rig clubs this season. Thanks to Osay-Samuel, the win against Ankaraguk is his third straight win and he is comfortably leading the league.

Osai-Samuel has been performing reasonably well in recent weeks but has not been selected for Nigeria’s squad for next week’s 2023 AFCON qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe. If he can maintain this form, he will have a real chance to join the Ivory Coast team next year.
