Fernando Alonso enjoyed that Aston Martin can rack up in the last 2 F1 races to end 2024 period on a positive note before 2025 reset.
Having had a tough year overall, Alonso offered Aston Martin something to joy for in the last 2 F1 races with points coatings to end the 2024 period on a positive note. It really did not come simple for the Spaniard as he had to battle to protect the Top 10 coating versus excellent competitors.
The suches as of Haas, Alpine and Visa Cash App RB basically intimidated to rack up even more yet Alonso stood his ground to rack up handful points before their 2025reset “The last two races finishing in the points for sure is a good thing, end things on a positive note after Austin, Mexico and Brazil where we were point-less,” he stated to media.
“It was important to finish on a positive note to score in Qatar and Abu Dhabi. We deserve as well because the team at trackside never stopped working and extract the maximum from the car. I did enjoy the final race, lot of action in the first lap. Yeah, happy to go to 2025 with a little bit of reset of things, learn from all the difficulties and mistakes of 2024 and put those in 2025 project,” summarized Alonso.
Teammate Lance Stroll did not appreciate his run as he at some point finished the 2nd fifty percent without any points versus his name. It simply really did not exercise for him. He did have fights in Abu Dhabi, yet it was insufficient. “I had a good start to the race and made up four positions on the opening lap, but the car didn’t have the performance to fight for much more,” he stated.
“After the pit stops, we just didn’t have the pace to climb all the way back through the traffic into the points, but we made a few positions back passing Doohan and Tsunoda. This wasn’t the season we were hoping for, but we will be pushing hard to come back stronger next season. Thanks to the team for all their hard work over a challenging year,” summarized Stroll.
