Rajasthan Royals Playing 11 (RR Playing XI) & Lucknow Super Giants Playing 11 (LSG Playing XI), IPL 2024, Match 4:
Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will take on each other in the fourth game of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024). The match is scheduled to take place at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday (March 24).
RR are looking for their second IPL title and first title since 2008 while LSG are eyeing their first-ever title this season. In the last season, RR finished at the fifth spot while LSG qualified for the playoffs but could not get past that stage. Both the teams will be eyeing a winning start to their campaign, Before the game begins, we are taking a look at the probable playing XIs of both the teams.
RR Playing XI:
Openers: Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal
Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal will be opening the innings for RR in IPL 2024. Both the batters had good outing in the last season and would be eyeing a strong start in IPL 2024. Jaiswal scored more than 600 runs last year while Buttler scored almost 400 runs.
Middle-order batsmen and allrounders: Sanju Samson (c, wk),Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell, Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag
Captain Sanju Samson, Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell, Dhruv Jurel and Riyan Parag form an explosive middle and lower-order for RR. The likes of Samson, Hetmyer and Jurel impressed with their performance in the last season while Powell’s abilities are well known. Parag struggled in the IPL last year but roared back to form in domestic cricket and will be eyeing to bounce back this season.
Bowlers: R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Avesh Khan, Trent Boult
For the bowling lineup, RR are likely to play with two spinners and as many spinners. Trent Boult and Avesh Khan are set to lead the pace attack while R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal are expected to the spinners.
LSG Playing XI:
Openers: Quinton de Kock (wk), KL Rahul
Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul are likely to open the innings for LSG this season. De Kock scored 143 runs in 4 games last season before enjoying a fine campaign in the ODI World Cup. He has performed well in Indian conditions and will be eyeing a good season. On the other hand, Rahul knows that having a good IPL is important for T20 World Cup aspirations and will be desperate to do well.
Middle-order batsmen and allrounders: Devdutt Padikkal, Deepak Hooda, Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, Marcus Stoinis
For the middle-order, LSG will have the services of Devdutt Padikkal, Deepak Hooda, Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni and Marcus Stoinis. The onus will be on the likes of Padikkal and Pooran to build the platform while the likes of Hooda, Badoni and Stoinis will have to provide the finishing touches.
Bowlers: Krunal Pandya, Naveen-ul-Haq, Yash Thakur, Ravi Bishnoi
Just like RR, LSG are also likely to play the game with two spinners and as many pacers. While Yash Thakur and Naveen-ul-Haq are set to be the two pacers, Krunal Pandya and Ravi Bishnoi will be the spinners.
