Watch: India all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer, currently out of national reckoning, bowled a cracking inswinger to clean up Yash Rathod’s stumps during the Madhya Pradesh v Vidarbha Ranji Trophy semi-final match.
Venkatesh, who made a name for himself with his all-round prowess in the IPL, which ultimately propelled him to an India cap, picked up 2-28 as MP restricted Vidarbha to 170 all out.
He first dismissed Atharva Taide, the Vidarbha opener, before cleaning up Rathod with a vicious delivery that moved in sharply and went through the Vidarbha No.5’s defences.
From 101-3, Vidarbha stumbled to 137-8 and then 170 all out.
Iyer, who turns 30 this year, has played two ODIs and nine T20Is for India, and found a spot in the aftermath of the 2021 T20 World Cup, but couldn’t hold onto his spot leading into the 2022 edition of the event.
