Red Bull GmbH has released Christian Horner following an investigation into inappropriate behavior on the eve of the 2024 Formula 1 season.
After weeks of speculation and reports, Mr Horner was cleared by an independent lawyer after an employee accused the Red Bull F1 manager of inappropriate conduct. What exactly happened has not been disclosed by either party.
Reports initially suggested coercive action, but later suggested Mr Horner had sent inappropriate messages and even tried to pay people to end the situation. However, although the issue has been resolved, nothing has been confirmed.
Horner not only attended Red Bull’s presentation, but also participated in pre-season testing. He is scheduled to take part in the Bahrain Grand Prix and is reported to be heading to Bahrain only on Tuesday night to meet Helmut Marko in Austria.
A statement from Red Bull GmbH said that the charges were dismissed, but that the complainant was given the opportunity to appeal if necessary. We believe that the investigation was conducted fairly and that those involved in this matter were not biased.
“The independent investigation into the allegations against Mr. Horner has been completed and Red Bull can confirm that the allegations have been dismissed,” the statement said. “Plaintiffs have the right to appeal. Red Bull is confident that the investigation was fair, rigorous and impartial.
“The investigation report is confidential and contains personal information of the parties and third parties who participated in the investigation. Therefore, out of respect to all involved, we will refrain from making any further comment. “Red Bull remains committed to meeting the highest workplace standards.”
