‘Irresponsible Click Bait’ – Harsha Bhogle Claims His Video Seemingly Criticising Virat Kohli Is ‘Selectively Edited’

Harsha Bhogle has hit out at an Indian news agency for “selectively edited reporting” after a clip of him seemingly criticising Virat Kohli‘s T20 approach went viral.

A video clip posted by PTI, India’s largest news agency, shows Bhogle attending an event discussing Kohli’s batting style in the T20s, and claims that his dismissal after scoring was “actually “It could be in the team’s interest.” In matches, it gives way to more aggressive batters.

“Virat Kohli is a great example. Virat Kohli plays Test cricket for India. He shouldn’t come out,” Bhogle said.

“Right now, he is playing for RCB in the Indian national team.At some point, it might actually be in the best interest of the team for him to leave. How can I accept the fact that I’m one of the greatest players? But at this point it’s actually in the team’s interest for me to go out because the guy that comes in is probably going to be 20 years old. Six batted balls. Of.

He added: “Virat Kohli is an extreme example. It could be…” and the video ends abruptly.

The clip sparked outrage from fans who questioned Bogle’s position in the post’s comments section.

Just a few hours later, Bogle posted a tweet mentioning the PTI clip and claiming it was selectively edited.

“This is an example of what I have been talking about on social media,” Bogle wrote. “The video cuts off just before the point where I said Virat can play in any situation, but I emphasize that even the best players always have to adapt to their demands and priorities.” I just did it.

“Come on @PTI_News. We know you can do better. When we have targeted reporting, no one can get their point across clearly. Post full clip Could you do that for me?”

In a subsequent tweet, he again criticized news organizations, calling them “irresponsible clickbait media.”

“What chance does our profession have if even @PTI_News succumbs to irresponsible clickbait media?” Bogle wrote. “Very disappointed. I hope the heads of @PTI_News news are too. Come on, let’s protect the integrity of our profession.”

Virat Kohli is currently away from cricket and is absent from the ongoing India-England Test series to be with his family.
