Watch: On his PSL debut, 17-year-old Mohammad Zeeshan castled Quetta Gladiators captain Rilee Rossouw with a brilliant slower ball.
Mohammad Zeeshan came into the limelight in the U19 Asia Cup 2023 by picking up 6 wickets against Nepal and 4 more wickets against India. Zeeshan played in the 2024 U-19 World Cup held in South Africa, where Pakistan lost in the semi-finals, where he finished with 6 wickets and 26 wickets, a par of 4.87.
Zeeshan is already 2 meters tall. Since he is only 17 years old, this height can grow even further. This helps him create awkward bounces.
Zeeshan was selected by Peshawar Zalmi for PSL 2024 and immediately made his tournament debut. Babar Azam was given a new ball along with Luke Wood, but Jason Roy (75 off 48 balls) and Saud Shakeel (74 off 47 balls) scored 157 off 92 balls to take the lead stand. During the middle, he chose to run.
After conceding 30 runs in the first three overs (all in the powerplay), he returned to bowling in the 17th over. He bowled over the wicket and accelerated the fourth ball, just as he hit Quetta at 109.7 km/h.He sent the ball to the Gladiators’ newly-appointed captain, left-hander Riley Rossouw.
The ball fell on the leg stump line. Rossu timed his strike too early, but he missed the ball completely and was thrown. Zeeshan finished the match with a record of 4-0-38-1, but Sharfan Rutherford (20 runs off 13 balls) took Quetta to 206-5.
