Watch: ‘He’ll Be Kicking Himself’ – Shubman Gill Falls For 91 In Pursuit Of Non-Existent Run | IND Vs ENG

Watch: At Rajkot, Shubman Gill was run out for 91 when he set off in pursuit of a non-existent single.

India took an early lead of 126 runs in the third Test of the five-match series in Rajkot. Shubman Gill joined Yashasvi Jaiswal on the third afternoon as India extended their lead to 322 and remained unbeaten on 65.

Gill continued to play on the third morning against Kuldeep Yadav, who appeared as a night watchman for the second time in a Test match. When Tom Hartley bowled the last ball of the 64th over of the innings to Kuldeep, the score was 246-2.

At this point, Kuldeep decided to play Ben Stokes in the midfield. He didn’t have time to take the shot, but the ball went wide of Stokes. Meanwhile, Gill was moving towards a non-existent single, but unsurprisingly, he was chased back by Kuldeep.

Stokes, who had brilliantly defeated Ravindra Jadeja in the first Test match in Hyderabad, threw the ball to Hartley who received it. Replays revealed that Gill’s full-body jump on the non-striker’s side missed the crease.

When Gill retired, missing his 200th Test match in as many matches, “he’s going to kick himself,” Ravi Shastri said on the show.

At the time of writing, India’s record stands at 307-4, with Jaiswal (142 innings since restart) and Sarfaraz Khan (22 innings) contributing at the crease. They lead with 433.
