Iftikhar Ahmed has apologized after a heated argument with Asad Shafiq on the pitch. The incident took place during the ongoing Sindh Premier League (SPL) match between Karachi Gargis and Larkana Challengers.
Iftikhar Ahmed will be traded to Ghazi, while Asad Shafiq will play for Challengers in SPL 2024. The altercation took place when the Pakistan all-rounder dismissed the former Pakistan batsman. Iftikhar Ahmed celebrated his exit positively, but things did not go well for Asad Shafiq.
The right-handed batsman immediately expressed his displeasure, but an angry Iftikhar Ahmed approached him and said something. Other players had to intervene and separate him to defuse the situation.

Iftikhar Ahmed issues apology:
After the match, Iftikhar Ahmed went to X to apologize for his actions. Admitting he couldn’t control himself, he explained that he shouldn’t have reacted that way. Iftikhar Ahmed also revealed that he met Shafiq in person after the match and apologized, writing:
“I deeply apologize for my actions on the field today. I should not have reacted that way in the heat of the moment. I personally apologized to @asadshafiq1986 Bhai after the match. I always wished him luck. We played a lot of cricket together.”

Speaking about the match, Iftikhar Ahmed impressed with the bat and ball and contributed to the big win for the Ghazi family. He scored 69 runs in just 43 balls, contributing to a total of 160 runs. Ghazi’s forces were reeling at 3-2 and 4-26, but Iftikhar’s 50 men saved them. He also shared his 92-run stand with Muneeb Wasif (31) for the fifth wicket until his dismissal.
As a result, the Challengers were eliminated from the game with just 92 points. Aimal Khan took center stage with the ball, taking four wickets while Iftikhar took three.
