Shimron Hetmyer has struggled to form in white-ball cricket of late, scoring one and two in the first two T20Is against England before being bowled out in the third match in Grenada. The left-handed finisher only managed to score 32 points. 0 and 12 in his three ODIs. His place in the team was taken over by Johnson-Charles and he performed well for the team when given the opportunity.
Meanwhile, Alzarri Joseph has taken a break ahead of the West Indies tour to Australia next month. The tour will include two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is and the fast bowler is expected to play in all his three formats. The tour begins with his first Test in Adelaide on January 17.
Joseph hit 3 for 39 in the second T20I, taking the wickets of Phil Salt, Will Jacks and Sam Curran as West Indies won by 10 runs, but England He hit a fifty in the third game as he reached his target of 223. In his place, West Indies selected Oshain Thomas, who has taken 21 of his wickets from his 20 T20Is since his debut in 2018.
