Okocha, Mikel, Nkwocha join former Liverpool, Arsenal, Barcelona stars to headline CAF Awards 2023

Osimhen, Oshoala, Nnadoji and Abiodun have placed Nigeria at the top of the awards ceremony as one of the favorites to go home with the most prestigious award.

Nigerian football legends Austin Jay Jay Okocha, John Mikel Obi and Perpetua Nkwocha will grace the prestigious CAF Awards 2023, reports Soccernet.ng.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has invited former international players to add elegance to the celebration of excellence and excellence in African football.

This trio, along with other notable names, will definitely add to the charm of this year’s CAF Awards and promises to be a memorable edition.

Okocha, Mikel and Nkwocha join football legends such as former Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o, former Liverpool striker El Hadji Diouf, former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor, Jonathan Pitroupa, Kalusha Bwalya, Ahmed Hassan and Patrick Mboma . And more to make this year’s CAF Awards even more memorable.

On the sidelines of the event, a gala football match will be held at the Marrakech Stadium on Sunday 10th December from 4pm. local time (3pm GMT) to remember the victims of the earthquake.

 

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is the favorite to win the coveted men’s player of the year title, while Asisat Oshoala is aiming for her sixth women’s title.

Chiamaka Nnadoji is in contention for the Goalkeeper of the Year award while Deborah Abiodun is in contention for the Young Player of the Year award.

The Super Falcons, a powerhouse in African women’s soccer, have been nominated for National Team of the Year.

The winners will be announced at the CAF Awards Ceremony on Monday, December 11th in Marrakech, Morocco.
