Gautam Gambhir recently opened up about the disastrous start to the 2014 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Early in the tournament, the then Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain scored three successive ducks while he scored one run in the fourth match of the tournament.
In ANI’s podcast, Gautam Gambhir reveals that during IPL 2014, several players from Delhi had dinner and Ashish Nehra ordered duck and suggested that if he didn’t try it, he would have ordered the duck. You might get another duck.
“Four or five people from Delhi were sitting together at the dining table. Ashish Nehra ordered duck. He asked me to have duck for dinner. If you don’t, you might get another duck in the next game. I tried it. I scored in that game and Nehra messaged me afterwards.” said Gautam Gambhir.

“In Abu Dhabi 2014, we started the IPL with three consecutive ducks, one of which came in the fourth game.” We lost four of the first five matches . “He said don’t get discouraged until you get there and want to be there. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have signed former India batsman Gautam Gambhir as their new ‘mentor’ ahead of the 2024 IPL season. Joining KKR will be Gambhir’s return to his hometown.
