The Super Falcons have already done half the job in Abuja and have completed it in Cape Verde too
Rashiedat Ajibade and Esther Okoronkwo were on the scoresheet for Nigeria Super Falcons in their 2-1 win over Cape Verde at the SoccernetEstadio Nacional de Cape Verde.
Super Falcons defeated Cape Verde 5-0 in Abuja last week, confirming that the second leg was just a formality. His 2-1 victory in Cape Verde secured Nigeria a place in Morocco next year.
Soccernet.ng reviews the performance of star players who have played for Nigeria.
Chiamaka Nnadoji 6/10: The Parisian female star put in a decent performance for Nigeria. Although she conceded a goal early on, she showed her strength for the rest of the match.
Toshin Demehin 6.5/10: Demehin had a decent game for the Super Falcons. At first she looked upset as Cape Verde approached the finish line, but eventually she calmed down.
Akudo Ogbonna 6.4/10: She played a decent game for Nigeria. In contrast to her first leg, she was wobbly and didn’t have much power offensively.
Rofiat Imran 6.5/10: Imran played a good game for Nigeria. She was pretty solid defensively, but she made some bad decisions. Still, it was a decent game overall.
Oshinachi Ohare 6.5/10: Ohare was ice cold as usual. She used her own experience to mobilize other defenders. There were some shaky moments, but overall it was a decent game.
Peace Efih 6/10: Efi was decent but could have been better. She was unable to assert her authority in the midfield, leaving control of the game to Cape Verde.
Rashiedat Ajibade 7.5/10: After Oshoala was eliminated from the qualifiers, Ajibade made his presence felt, but fell under the radar again. She was always an aggressive threat and made life difficult for the women of Cape Verde.
Toni Payne 6.8/10: Payne played a good game, but not at the level he reached in the first leg. But she was always realistic when she had the ball and that helped Nigeria a lot.
Deborah Abiodun 7/10: Abiodun was, as always, a workaholic. We covered every blade of grass, but there were problems at first. Still, she had a good game.
Uchenna Kanu 6.3/10: Kanu was OK but could have been better. Her ball usage was abysmal at times and she didn’t connect well on Monday.
Gift Monday 6.3/10: Monday was a decent performance. But she was also wasted at times. Their pace was a problem for the Cape Verdean team, but they were unable to make the most of it.
Esther Okoronkwo 7.8/10: Okoronkwo was once again a breath of fresh air for the team. She was very real and posed a serious offensive threat. She played a great game representing Nigeria.
