Harsha Bhogle labels Henry Blofeld ‘condescending’ over ‘too big for their boots‘ India comments

Harsha Bhogle responded to Henry Blofeld after the latter’s comments on Australia winning the 2023 World Cup.

Australia defeated previously undefeated hosts India in the final. Blofeld praised her performance as “walking into the lion’s den and coming out first.”

He concluded as follows. “India won’t be hurt. They’re a little too big to fend for themselves!”

As expected, this comment received criticism from users of the platform.

However, he praised the next generation for being “more conscious, less snobbish and easier to get along with,” allowing them to “remain relevant and progress in society.”

In another post, Bogle recalled his first stint in Test Match Special. There, Christopher said Martin he worked with “an absolute gentleman” like Jenkins and felt he “felt at ease”. He also mentioned Vic Marks, Mike Selvey and even “guys like Bill Frindall.”

Blofeld, 84, was a regular on Test Match Specials from 1972 to 2017.
