Super Eagles centre-back Kenneth Omeruo has encouraged his teammates to do their best to win the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, reports Soccernet.ng.
Omeruo, 30, has been a regular for the national team since his debut in 2013, appearing in every match of this year’s AFCON tournament and winning the gold medal.
Ahead of Nigeria’s World Cup qualifiers, the Kasumpasya defender is hoping to make up for missing the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
“This is an important theme for us. We didn’t make it to the last World Cup, so we want to work on it seriously. In order to get a ticket to the next World Cup We have to do what we have to do,” the former Chelsea player toldSoccernet.ng.
Omeruo is an experienced player who has participated in two FIFA World Cups and spoke about the special charm of the tournament.

Nigeria will play familiar faces in Lesotho and Zimbabwe to begin their qualifying campaign and the team captain reiterated the need to win both matches.

The Super Eagles will play Lesotho on Thursday before traveling to Zimbabwe to face them on Sunday.
