Former Pakistan pacer Umar Gul has clarified his stance over Abdul Razzaq’s comments regarding Indian actress Aishwarya Rai, calling his remarks unethical and immoral.
At a recent press event, Razzaq evaluated Pakistan’s disastrous defeat in the 2023 World Cup, drawing comparisons with Rai, and his former teammates Umar Gul and Shahid Afridi were among the panelists. They laughed and applauded.
Razak blamed the PCB’s poor selection decisions by drawing uncanny similarities with the actress. “Younis Khan has good intentions as captain and that gave me the confidence to perform better.Everyone here is talking about the team’s intentions. If you think that marrying Aishwarya Rai will produce good and pious children, it will never happen.”
Razzaq’s comments received a lot of attention on social media, but Gul and Afridi also came under fire for their seemingly positive reactions to the comments. In response to the backlash, Gall criticized.

This incident is not the first time that a former Pakistan player’s comments on TV during this World Cup have become a hot topic. At the start of the tournament, Hasan Raza accused India of changing the playing conditions and tampering with the ball.
