Nigeria’s Super Eagles will play Zimbabwe and Lesotho later this month, but Okoye will not take part in the games
Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has announced that Bendel Insurance goalkeeper Amasu Okoye has been excluded from Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Lesotho after Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye was ruled out of Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Lesotho. Soccer Net reported that Obasogie has been invited.
The Super Eagles are aiming to get their World Cup qualifying campaign off to a good start later this month. Peseiro invited 23 players to the games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, and Okoye was one of the new additions to the squad after missing out on previous selection due to lack of playing time at the club.
