Watch: David Miller showed his reflexes as he hung onto a juggling catch to dismiss Rahmat Shah in the 24th over of the South Africa-Afghanistan World Cup clash on Friday (November 10).
On the fifth ball of the over, Rahmat pushed a long pass from Lungin Ngidi towards the back point where the mirror was located. The ball bounced in Miller’s hands not once, but twice, and bounced off his face before Miller grabbed it on his third attempt. Ngidi, who had previously been off the field due to an injury to his left ankle, was all smiles as he grabbed it with one hand.
Rahmat, who was bowled out for 41 following the wicket of Rahmanullah Gurbaz, was knocked out for 26 off 46 balls with this catch.
Afghanistan failed to defeat Australia with 91 wins and 7 losses, almost eliminating them from the 2023 World Cup. Meanwhile, South Africa qualified for the semi-finals against Australia.
