UFC flyweight contestant Tyra Santos has officially parted ways with Dana White’s organization.

Former UFC flyweight contender Tyra Santos has officially parted ways with the UFC. Multiple sources have confirmed that Santos has been released from her contract with the UFC, ending her tenure with Dana White’s promotion to the promotion. Santos rose to prominence in the UFC flyweight division with a string of impressive wins over high-profile opponents.

Over the course of 14 months, she scored wins over Molly McCann, Gillian Robertson, Roxanne Modafferi, and Joanne Wood, ultimately earning her a spot in the flyweight championship.

In June 2022, Santos faced reigning champion Valentina Shevchenko in a highly anticipated title fight.

The match was a fierce battle, with Shevchenko winning by split decision. Although Santos was unsuccessful in her title attempt, her performance showed her skill and tenacity in the Octagon.

Unfortunately, Santos suffered a setback in her last match against Erin Blanchfield in August. The match was originally scheduled for February, but was postponed after Santos decided to withdraw.

The reason for her withdrawal was that her two cornermen, including her husband, faced repeated visa denials, which prevented her from entering the United States to fight.

With his release from the UFC, Santos ends his tenure with an internal record of 4 wins and 3 losses. Her UFC journey began in 2018 when she signed with Dana White’s Contender series and posted an impressive overall professional MMA record of 19 wins and 3 losses.
