‘Jarvo 69’ Banned By ICC From Attending World Cup Games

ICC has banned serial pitch-intruder Daniel Jarvis or ‘Jarvo 69’ from attending any further World Cup games following his intrusion in the India-Australia match today (October 8) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Before the first match ball was bowled in the first World Cup match between India and Australia,Jarvis, known as ‘Jarbo 69’, breached security and entered the ground at Chidambaram Stadium in Massachusetts. So, it got off to a rocky start. .

Following this incident, the ICC issued a statement stating that “Jarbo 69” has been banned from participating in future World Cup matches.

“We will work with the venue to understand what happened and assess whether additional safety measures are needed to prevent something like this from happening again. The affected individual is prohibited from participating in future matches. The event is prohibited,” an ICC spokesperson told PTI.

‘Jarbo 69’ has a long history of similar security breaches, including entering stadiums at international cricket matches by climbing over fences and border fences.

Last year, he was charged with and found guilty of aggravated trespassing after colliding with Jonny Bairstow on the ground during the fourth Test between India and England at Keir Oval in London in 2021 received.
