Watch: Lbw Appeal, Overthrow, Double Mix-Up – Mohammad Nawaz Gets Run Out In Chaotic Fashion

Watch: Mohammad Nawaz was involved in a strange, action-packed run-out in the 47th over of the Pakistan innings during their World Cup match against Netherlands at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad today (October 6).

Tailder is known for being unpredictable when running between the wickets. The same was evident in Pakistan’s innings in the opening match of the World Cup.

Shaheen Afridi attempted a reverse sweep off Colin Akkerman’s throw in the 47th over but failed to make contact with the bat. The ball bounced off the pads and hit the fine leg, allowing Mohammad Nawaz to score a single from the non-striker’s side.

He reached half the pitch before Afridi sent him back. Nawaz managed to get back to the crease when the small, slender fielder’s throw missed the non-striker end’s stumps, hit Ackermann’s hands and deflected into the left-hander’s leg side.

The distance the ball traveled after hitting Ackerman was attractive enough for Pakistan’s batsmen to think about it and aim for an overthrow. Nawaz, who took a shot at the non-striker’s end, turned him and ran slow. This time Afridi answered.

Ackermann, on the other hand, ran as fast as he could to retrieve the ball, slipped to retrieve it, and threw the ball to the striker in one go. Nawaz dived as hard as he could to create a crease, but this time his direct hit hit well outside the base, resulting in a chaotic 43-ball knock of 39.

Pakistan’s last pair of wickets added another 19 runs, taking their total to 286.

Netherlands had put Pakistan in trouble earlier, reducing the score to 38-3, but Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel scored two 68s to guide Pakistan to safety.

For the Netherlands, Bas de Leede was the bowler of choice and took 4 wickets for 62 runs, including two double-wicket overs.
