“De Laurentis must take responisibility”- Ex-Milan forward blasts Napoli chairman after Osimhen’s viral video was removed

Napoli previously posted a video on their official TikTok page mocking Osimhen for missing a penalty before deleting the video.

Former A.C. Milan striker Antonio Cassano has criticized Napoli coach Aurelio De Laurentiis for the way he handled the Osimhen incident, Soccernet.ng reported.

Fans around the world were surprised when Napoli released a video mocking the man who led the team to their first Scudetto title in over 30 years. Guri Azzurri, which was under scrutiny even before the video was released, was ultimately not released. It was deleted.

A few days later, the club issued an official statement saying the video was not posted with malicious intent and was posted as a harmless joke, but Cassano disagreed.

The former Italy international striker said the club’s official statement was far from an apology and that Osimhen had every right to be offended, even if the club said otherwise in its statement.

“In 40 years of football, a club has never kicked a team The wrong penalty was given to his own player, but Napoli did not apologize to Osimhen and explain that he should not be offended. It’s even worse.”, quoted from Calcionews24.

The Super Eagles striker scored 26 goals in the league last season but has struggled for goals since the international break, ending Napoli’s winning streak against Udinese in midweek.

However, Antonio Cassano still believes the club should have done more to protect the 24-year-old and called on the club president to take responsibility for the confusion the video has caused. If he does not do so, there is a risk that Osimhen may leave the club for less than that amount. More than his worth.

“De Laurentiis must take responsibility for the devastation he has caused, otherwise the player will be free at the end of the season. Leaving on transfer is the right thing to do.”The 41-year-old added:

Napoli coach Rudi Garcia left Osimhen on the bench against Lecce and replaced him with Argentine Giovanni Simeone.

The Frenchman appears to be resting the Capocannoniere award winner ahead of Napoli’s important game against Real Madrid on Tuesday.
