Victor Osimhen misses a penalty that could have revived his goal against Bologna at the weekend
Napoli are in trouble after they posted a controversial TikTok video mocking Nigerian star Victor Osimhen after missing a decisive penalty against Bologna, Soccernet.ng reported.
The incident escalated when the player’s agent, Roberto Calender, issued a strong statement condemning the club’s actions and pointing out possible legal repercussions.
In the match against Petronian, Osimhen’s missed penalty cost Napoli an important point, leaving fans disappointed with the 0-0 away draw.
Napoli’s official TikTok channel decided to take advantage of the situation and post a video mocking Osimhen. The video humorously explained how Osimhen had appealed for a handball penalty, but he was subsequently given the penalty.

The video quickly sparked a reaction on social media, with some Nigerian fans finding it offensive and potentially racist towards Osimhen.
The video was deleted following backlash, but has resurfaced on various platforms including X (formerly Twitter).
Osimhen’s representative, Calender, expressed his strong disapproval of Napoli’s actions in a public statement. He stressed that such behavior is unacceptable and seriously damaging to athletes who have recently already been the subject of media scrutiny and fake news.
“What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is unacceptable.
“A video mocking Victor was first published and then belatedly removed, causing very serious damage to the player and the damage recently suffered by the boy during media trials and fake news. Significant facts that strengthen treatment.
“We reserve the right to pursue legal action and any beneficial efforts to protect Victor.” Calenda said.
Previously, it was reported that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis was being investigated by LOSC Lille for allegedly lying about Osimhen’s transfer deal.
This is likely to be a memorable day for the people of Naples, as the Super Eagles talisman may leave the Diego Maradona Stadium early if things do not go as expected.
